SUPPLEMENTS

Apparently this has become quite a big market as people become very focused on their health.

Supplements touted to enhance memory functioning – the major ones are dubious at best, they cost a lot with a lack of research to support their claims. Declining memory abilities is undoubtedly an issue for seniors. If you decide to take a supplement, look for one that contains choline.

Supplements aimed to improve sleep – problems sleeping is a concern these days. I am a night owl and often I see a commercial by Dr Phil promoting a sleep aide. For one thing, I am not a fan of Dr Phil, years ago he lost his license in Calif and he engage in very questionable activities such as going to the hospital where Britney Spears was and publicly provided “treatment”.

There are many ways to help with sleep problems, warm baths, a warm glass of milk, a cool bedroom, and not engaging with your phone before trying to sleep.

I’m not against supplements per se as many make sense but they tend to cost a lot and often you can get the same benefit from your diet.
