This long running TV series is often ranked number one on lists of the best TV shows of all time. I have seen it countless times and know many lines by heart. It checks all the boxes, great acting, themes that resonated with others, and stellar writers.
I recently saw an interview of Bryan Cranston; he was reflecting on why the series was so successful. He spoke about themes that may not be readily apparent such as the plight of teachers these days and the implications of unsurmountable health care expenses. Walter White was a complex, multilayered individual who struggled with feeling of regret over not achieving the recognition he deserved from his research, dealing with raising a child with disabilities, and facing a devastating cancer diagnosis. Throughout the series he constantly reiterated that all he did was for his family, to ensure their financial well being after his inevitable passing. But obviously things were far more complex as he took a long time to give up his illegal activities and he did engage in some very evil behaviors.
Whichever character you identify with, it is worth checking out this series, it is available on Netflix.
