One thing I have learned is that you know your body better than your health care provider and what you don’t know about medicine, AI often provides an answer
Unfortunately what I have learned is that doctors don’t know everything
for example, when I was found to have high cholesterol years ago my doctor was quick to put me on a statin but she never talked to me about the fact that statins depleted your coQ10
and she told me I had to be on a statin for life while failing to discuss ways I could naturally address my high cholesterol
I am happy to report that I am now off of statins and my cholesterol is in the average range
how I accomplished this I will discuss in another post
Beyond taking control of your medical conditions there are tons of easy things you can do to improve your mental/physical well-being
You are what you eat. It is important to think about what you put in your body. esp today when so much of our food is processed and full of bad stuff. I will talk about diet in another post
Exercise – so many older folks neglect this. It is important to devote at least 3 hours a week to exercising and it helps to combine cardio, weight bearing, and stretching into your routine. I like pickleball as it addresses all these.
Stress – this is important as so many people report having high levels of stress and stress is a factor in many illnesses. I will address ways of controlling stress in another post
Cognitive functioning – yea it generally declines with age but there are things you can do to enhance your mental abilities, which I will address in another post
YOU ARE GREAT, WISE COMPASSIONATE AND FUNNY, EMBRACE AGING
